Lei Jun and six other partners started Xiaomi in Beijing in 2010. Lei had founded Joyo.com, which he sold to Amazon in 2004 for $75 million, in addition to Kingsoft. By 2014, Xiaomi held the biggest percentage of the Chinese smartphone market, having launched its debut device in August 2011.
